about

Oddskool and BitBasic return with another psychedelic dose of their unique collaborative sound, their first new material on Machine Records since 2016's much-loved 'Back Once Again With the Renegade Curly Pasta'.

We compared their last release to "beret-wearing clowns who use a yo-yo to break into Tesco's and steal nothing but Marmite, then fall through a trans-dimensional portal into a coral world and live happily among the sea-snails on the alien planet Xylob 8.... " and are pleased to report this word-salad remains entirely apt.

As Oddskool, Toby Newman has released singles, EPs, and an exceptional album on Machine Records. He's got an amazing live show, with a highlight supporting Chris Clark (Warp) at Cardiff's Clwb Ifor Bach. He's also collaborated with BitBasic on Test Pilot records and one of his early songs, 'Diet Hogan', was played by the legendary John Peel as a demo, before it appeared on Machine Music 2 in 2004.

London-based Bitbasic AKA Simon Haycock, has released several EPs and albums through other netlabels such as Monotonik, Rec72 and Testpilot Music before. Bitbasic started his musical adventures at the age of 15. Playing out with a laptop and 40h monome, Simon uses his self-written software ‘dj64′ which models a mixer and two turntables virtually.
